James Rowe is the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Sheep Industry Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) based in Armidale. Before taking on this role he was the Professor of Animal Science at the University of New England for 8 years.  He has over 30 years research experience working for commercial companies, international development programs, government agencies, and universities.  Sheep CRC research achievements include development of precision sheep production technologies; accelerating the introduction of genomics in sheep breeding; systems for sheep meat grading; the measurement and calibration of next-to-skin comfort for wool knitwear; and web-based apps to help the sheep industry ‘harvest the benefits of digital agriculture’.
