About Nambucca Shire

Nambucca Heads is known as the ‘jewel of the mid north coast’, having safe and wonderful surf beaches and a beautiful river which flows along the entire southern area of the town. Visitors flock to the town, particularly in the spring and summer months to enjoy the temperate climate and an array of activities all at their fingertips. It is the largest centre in the Shire with a population of around 7,000 followed closely by the town of Macksville that is the business centre of the Shire. The remainder of the population lives in a number of rural villages and small coastal communities.
